Orlando

I haven’t posted in a while! I was in Orlando visiting my sister. Here is a recap of the weekend..

FRIDAY:

When I got to Orlando my sister and I went to get food! Chipotle of course :) The love must run in the family? I didn’t even know she loved it. I must say.. it is sick, but I can tell slight differences in Chipotle because I eat it so much.. and Orlando’s Chipotle kind of sucks! It tasted weird..too much cilantro.. the lettuce didn’t taste fresh.. it was just odd.

Saturday:

I had half of this Larabar Saturday morning and then the other half Sunday morning

For lunch we went to Jason’s Deli because I’d never been and wanted to try it. If they didn’t have a salad bar and VEGETARIAN french onion soup I would never go back. This wrap was nasty.. it made me nauseous all day. First of all.. the guy who made it basically gave me a nasty lettuce sandwich.. there were no olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, or onions like promised.. and the hummus was lacking. I had to bring it back up and they remade it.. but it still SUCKED. So gross.. the lettuce tasted like grass.. ughhhhh! The hummus was realllllly good though.. I must say. Next time I’ll listen to my sister and get the salad bar.

I made my sister take me to Jeremiah’s Italian Ice! I’d seen it on almost everyone else’s blog from Orlando so I HAD To go.

I got Cookies and Cream gelati. AMAZING. Best italian ice I’ve ever had. I ate it incredibly fast and wanted more :( I wish I’d known you could mix flavors because I wanted to try P-NUTTY. But the ice tasted exactly like an oreo..I want it now :(

For dinner my sister made whole wheat spaghetti with butter, garlic, broccoli and parmesan cheese. Why don’t I make this myself?

I was bad and had two kinds of ice cream! I had a fudgsicle for dessert.. but it was only 90 calories.. so it doesn’t count..right? I did go on a short run around the neighborhood though. It was killer because there’s a lot of hills..but I did it!

SUNDAY

I had half a Larabar before heading out for a photoshoot. It ended a lot earlier than expected so I got home early around 12pm and ate lunch.

I was having cereal withdrawal so I made the usual.. and the soy milk was weird at the bottom.. I couldn’t eat a lot of this..it grossed me out how thick it was. ugh

Sleepy Girl

So while I posted earlier today I ate my usual cereal combination. It’s my love.. I can’t help it.

I had a glass of chocolate milk before pilates so my tummy wouldn’t rumble the whole time. I’m glad I drank this because she really kicked our asses today. We did mostly new moves and they were “gut busters” as she called them. It was awesome :)

I immediately plopped my butt down at work after and ate my yummy falafel wrap.

falafel, lettuce, roasted red pepper and artichoke tzatziki sauce (AMAZING) on a flat out wrap. I ate this in less than 2 minutes I think.

I also packed some blue corn tortilla chips to dip into red pepper Sabra hummus. This hummus is really good.. it tastes like nacho cheese kind of but way better.

Well I’m out. I’m going to try and sleep early tonight because I have a 5:45 spin class tomorrow morning. Then i’m packing and heading off to Orlando to visit my sister and have a photoshoot!

Seeing Things

Here is Wednesday’s food. I was too tired to post last night.. I didn’t even eat dinner until around 10:30 pm.

For breakfast..I was unoriginal again…shredded wheat, banana, granola, soy.

Lunch was a GIANT apple with pb.. I ate while I was at work.. I was surprisingly not hungry yesterday so this was about the only thing I could stomach

It was quite the bad day for nutrition for me. I get 5 free personal training sessions for joining Gold’s Gym so it was my first.. and I didn’t know what to expect so I didn’t fill up beforehand. She just showed me how to use the machines and gave me a little routine to get me toned! I really enjoyed my session.. she was very nice :) The machines kicked my ass.. or should I say my arms.. so sore!

After the session I ate half this mojo bar to keep me fueled for a run with James. We only ended up running 1.5 miles but we did it FAST. I don’t think I have ever run that fast before! I think we did a 10 minute mile…or close to it :) James was brilliant and ate Mcdonalds earlier in the day so after 1.5 he wanted to puke..so we called it quits haha.

Not so impressed with this particular clif bar. It tasted weird…I don’t know how anything dipped in chocolate could be so bad..

I spotted candy corn laying around! It was my first time since last Halloween having some.. so goooood :)

I contemplated just skipping dinner because I wasn’t sure how my tummy would handle a 10:30pm dinner.. but I knew I would be hungryyyyyy so I had half a bowl of tomato soup and a piece of toast!

So this morning I woke up and got all ready to go to kickboxing class…I got to the gym and did the workouts the trainer assigned me and was there for about 30 min before realizing people were showing up with yoga mats.. umm yeah I definitely imagined seeing “kickboxing at 10:30″ on the schedule. . which SUCKS because there was a 9:30 spin class I could have made :( Oh well… I have pilates later and I did a butt blasting workout on Youtube to make up for it…kinda haha.

Sleepy Day

I have been sleepy all day! I hope it wont affect me being able to fall asleep tonight because i’ve been napping a lot.

They all fell apart :( I guess I didn’t let it sit enough. But it was my first time. I did get 3 somewhat decent patties. The crumbs are still yummy though!

Calm Before the Storm

I should enjoy the calm of this week because once it hits friday.. all hell is breaking loose! I will be in a different town every weekend until Halloween so I need to rest as much as I can now!

I had the usual cereal combo for breakfast. Granola, shredded wheat, banana and vanilla soy. The granola is amazingly good. It was worth buying for sure.

Monday is one of those days where I have a 12:30-3:15 class so I had to eat lunch early. I wasn’t hungry much from breakfast so I just had half a pb and j sandwich.

When I got home I was hungry but it wasn’t late enough for dinner yet so I had some blue born tortilla chips with roasted red pepper hummus.

Tonight is my 7-9:45 class so I ate something I knew would hold me over. And i’m actually still full! A small baked potato and tons of brocolli :) It looks like a lot but it’s a small plate. I think having small plates is a good idea because you really control portion size and it tricks your mind into thinking you’re eating more because the plate is full. But this REALLY was filling. I forced myself to finish it.

That is it for tonight. I’ll see if I get hungry in an hour and I might have something then.

Love Sundays

I LOVE Sundays. I love how calm the streets are and how peaceful they seem to be. I started my morning off with a peaceful 2 mile walk with James. My calf was feeling a lot better today :) I didn’t want to hurt it by running so we settled for walking. It’s ok though because brilliant James forgot his running shoes anyway! haha!

When we got back I ate some breakfast quickly so I could get over to Sarah and James’s to pick up their new baby kitten!!! I had the usual shredded wheat, banana, granola and soy milk combo. So addicted. The new kitten is ADORABLE! She is so cuddly and friendly <3 I almost stole her for Danny because he would have fallen in love with her! She growls at the other cats though.. it’s quite cute because she’s such a teeny little thing and she sounds fierce!

At around 2 I realized I wouldn’t be eating for awhile and ate the other half of my pbj Larabar. SO damn good. I need to buy more of these!

I stopped at Super Walmart on my way home and found some cheap deals! I had some chocolate milk when I got home to stop myself from eating dinner so early.

It held me over until around 7. I had a yummy roasted red pepper, blue corn tortilla chip grilled cheese sandwich!

A good ending to my last weekend in Sarasota until Halloween. I have a busy month ahead of me!

Friday and Saturday

I woke up yesterday at 4:30 am to go to spin class.. which is insanely early for me! I loved spin though :) Everyone was so friendly and it’s a crazy workout. I also liked how I was done with my workout before the sun even came up. Who can say that? I’ll do a recap of yesterday and then today as far as food goes.

I ate some peanut butter on arnold’s whole wheat bread on the way to the gym. It’s about all I can stomach at 4:30 in the morning.

When I got back I actually fell back asleep for a few hours and when I woke up I had a little cereal/granola combination. My friends from out of town came to visit and I anticipated them earlier than they came so I was actually wishing I ate more. I didn’t end up eating until 2:30!

As you can see I was so hungry when we sat down that I took bites before taking a photo! I took them to my FAVORITE pizza place probably ever.. Il Panificio in downtown Sarasota! They always have good choices but I get the same.. tomato and basil :) It’s the best! I probably should have gotten another slice or a salad but I was full after this and didn’t realize Id be eating so late.

This is where the day went wrong. I didn’t end up eating again until 9:30 outside of an unpictured apple at 7. I was ravenous. It was funny because I usually struggle to finish the whole bowl but I sat down before everyone and started shoveling. James joked that I was trying to catch up to my boyfriend (he is a crazy fast eater). I finished the entire thing in less than 5 minutes. The thing was covered in sour cream which was gross but I was so hungry I didn’t even care. I managed to beat 4 other people in eating.. and beat up my digestive tract at the same time. Not the best thing to eat late at night. I felt it this morning when I woke up!

FRIDAY:

I tried to eat more today. I weighed myself at the gym and I lost 7 pounds which I really did not mean to do. I guess adding exercise into an already healthy diet results in weight loss?.. imagine that!! ;) I don’t want to lose another 7 pounds so i’m going to try to eat more on days I workout.

My tummy was not my friend when I woke up so I ate half of this bar before my spin class so I wouldn’t pass out. It was AWESOME. This may be my favorite Larabar outside of banana bread! Im glad I ate this because spin kicked my ass. I really shouldn’t have gone today since yesterday was my first day. At first I thought I’d made a huge mistake because I could barely pedal without pain but I realized halfway through the class that the resistance was way up (durrrrrrr)! I lowered it and the rest of the class was much easier. But I must not have stretched correctly because I’m limping now. My calf is KILLING me. I was going to run tomorrow but I think I’ll take it easy instead.

When I got back my tummy was settled and I had some granola, shredded wheat and banana cereal. I know I should have variety in my diet but I can’t help it.. I’m a cereal addict :(

For lunch I grilled a pb and jelly sandwich! The Larabar got me in the mood for a real one :) So goooood and so filling. I could barely eat the whole thing.

For a snack I tried kale chips for the first time! Sabrina’s mom made them. I wish I could say I loved them but I’m not big on a lot of spice and they were a little much for me but still good! They’d be really good in a sandwich

For dinner I had leftover spinach pasta with tomato, garlic and some cheese and sauce. It was much better with cheese but it made me kind of nauseous. No idea why.

The best part of my day is this dark chocolate frozen banana. These things are so goooooood. I contemplated eating a second one but decided it wasn’t the best idea. Potassium overload much?

A delicious greek wrap from a little place in the mall! I actually thanked the lady for being there because I would have had to get subway or sbarro’s if the booth wasn’t! haha.. she agreed with me and we both discussed how amazing Publix subs are and how sucky Subway is!

UMM HELLO D’LITES! D’lites is now in sarasota! I can live here happily now. This is half dulce le leche and half chocolate. Only 50 calories per 1/2 cup!!! They have awesome flavors. All is low carb, low sugar and low calorie. Love it!

I finally dug into my Whole foods box. It is salad..tabouleh, cucumber salad, jicama sticks, peas, chickpeas, carrots, spinach, fettucini and artichoke caesar pasta (AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!), and some other tomato pasta. I ate about half of this. SO worth the 8 bucks!

Sorry for the bombardment of food. I am QUITE excited for my 5:45 AM spin class tomorrow with Sabrina! We’re going to get our asses kicked. I wrote out a little schedule I want to follow for classes and running.

Monday: Rest

Tuesday: Kickboxing

Wednesday: Running

Thursday: Pilates

Friday: Spinning or a yoga level 1 class. I also will go on runs these days I think.

Saturday: Spinning

Sunday: Rest or Run

I think I can do it!

Good Mood!

I am starting to see a progress with my running. I actually had a PEACEFUL run tonight which I never though was possible. Peaceful and running in the same sentence? Ha! But it was :) I ran a mile and I barely got out of breath and then finished .5 and didn’t feel like dying. I guess the cooler weather helps and of course running with a good friend doesn’t hurt! We decided to call it quits after 1.8 miles because it was almost completely dark out and we felt satisfied.

I joined Gold’s Gym today and am quite excited for all the classes! I want to take spinning, pilates (duh!), and kickboxing. I got a really good deal and can’t wait to start!

I will post photos of what I ate tomorrow because the internet is weird tonight and it won’t upload.

October is going to be an awesome month!!

It’s fall!

I am EXCITED for the weather :) 71 degrees out this morning? Brr!!!! I’m going to have to break out my sweaters and cute scarves! I will update this with food from the past few days later. Just wanted to say I am quite excited for my run tonight with James in this cool weather. I want to see if it helps at all.
